The United Nations security council has unanimously passed a resolution, drafted by the ministry of the UK called for achieving global ceasefire, ensure that the new vaccine in different parts of the world, including the conflict, can realize the equitable access, also called for by the who co-led by institutions such as the “new vaccine access mechanism” to provide more funds, and refugees into national immunization program.
“I am very pleased that the Security Council voted in favour of equitable distribution of vaccines, but to actually address this issue, we have to seriously consider patent exemptions,” WHO Director-General Tedros Tedros told a news conference in Geneva. The Council can do this if there is sufficient political will. The vote in favour of vaccine equity is important and we appreciate that, but concrete steps must be taken to increase the production of vaccine and the number of vaccinations so that this outbreak can end as soon as possible.”
